Red Hatter Mattters Outdoor Club Notes As we turn the calendar to April, we also change our meeting time to 8:00 am and gather by the front desk for our outdoor field trips. On April 25th we will carpool to the potholes west of town around the Wall Lake area. We will continue to gather on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 8:00 am from Spring through Fall unless otherwise announced. Several people signed up to join our birding club at the March Active Generations Outdoor Club Expo. If you are interested in joining or want more information call Ken Walter at 605 582 5700. All you need is an interest in birds, and enjoy great programs and fun outings.

April's Book selection is: The Things They Carried by Author, Tim O’Brien. O’Brien served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. His novel is interconnected stories of people involved in the Vietnam conflict.
The book which will be reviewed in May will be View from Mount Joy; by Author Lorna Landvik.
Joe Anderson loses Kriste, the love of his life after high school. Years later he meets her again but will he risk losing her again. For more information on our book club -contact leader, Marian Peters at 332 - 8431.

Members met in March at Taste the Spoon for a delicious lunch. A big THANK YOU to our Hostesses, Jean DeBoer and Jean Fowler, for making the arrangements. We will attend the annual Spring Fling on April 27th at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall. This event is always a fun-filled day with vendors, luncheon and entertainment.
April 25th is the National Red Hat Association's fifteenth birthday.
Plan to do something special with your group or at least wear your red hat on that day!

We continued to study bird songs on the CD, “Birding By Ear”, last month. We also looked at a variety of equipment such as birdfeeders, birdhouses, etc.
